When it comes to weddings, some things have to be done perfectly. The meal, the location, the ceremony, oh and I guess the person you are marrying. These things need to be thought about in a lot of detail with a lot of care and attention. You want to get these right. However, the smaller things matter a lot too. It is the smaller details that will really make your wedding stand out in people’s minds and cause them to remember little moments in the following weeks and months. Here is how you can set yourself apart from the crowd.
The wedding program
You could have a traditional booklet or change it completely and have each page a country you and your partner has visited to show the journey that you have been on.
The drinks
You could have a traditional bar or hire a cocktail maker who can do some fancy tricks and make three special cocktails, 1. That summarises what the groom is like 2. That summarises what the bride is like 3. The best elements of both to make a new couple cocktail.
Throw out the guest book
The guest book is something that you will rarely look at in married life. Instead, choose something that can hang on your wall. A large framed board or something more personal to you and your partner. Maybe the door of your first car, a snowboard you both used to use, or a large picture of you both in your favorite place.
Get creative with the food
I know the meal is important but there are plenty of areas to still have fun with. You could have a make your own ice cream parlor. A pizza oven later in the evening. Whatever captures the spirit of the couple can be used later in the night as a treat for the guests.
Wedding favors
These are the little gifts you give away at the wedding. It could be sandals in the girl’s bathroom for when their feet get sore, it could be deodorant in the men’s’ bathroom for when they dance too much. You can have fun with it too, it could be yoyos with the bride and groom’s face on either side.
